Minutes:

The Committee considered a report of the Director – Environment, Paul Barton, presented by Licensing Officer, Gillian Littlehales, which advised of an investigation involving an individual who held a Private Hire Driver’s Licence with Wigan Council. Members were informed that, on 16 January 2025, the Licensing Authority had received a complaint alleging that a private hire driver had been plying for hire.

The driver and his representative attended the meeting and answered questions of the Committee.

In reaching its decision, the Committee took into account all evidence and representations provided, the circumstances surrounding the incident and all relevant guidelines.

Resolved: The Committee revokes the licence on the grounds that the driver is not a fit and proper person to hold such a licence.
